Then in the midst of the assembly, the Lord’s Spirit came upon Jachaziel son of Zechariah, son of Benaiah, son of Jeiel, son of Mattaniah, a Levite and descendant of Asaph.

So some of the Ephraimite family leaders, Azariah son of Jehochanan, Berechiah son of Meshillemoth, Jechizkiah son of Shallum, and Amasa son of Hadlai confronted those returning from the battle.

The following Levites prepared to carry out the king’s orders: From the Kohathites: Mahath son of Amasai and Joel son of Azariah; from the Merarites: Kish son of Abdi and Azariah son of Jehallelel; from the Gershonites: Joah son of Zimmah and Eden son of Joah;

Jeroboam son of Nebat, a servant of Solomon son of David, rose up and rebelled against his master.

The conspirators were Zabad son of Shimeath (an Ammonite woman) and Jehozabad son of Shimrith (a Moabite woman).

God’s Spirit came upon Azariah son of Oded.

King Amaziah son of Joash of Judah lived for fifteen years after the death of King Joash son of Jehoahaz of Israel.

The king ordered Hilkiah, Ahikam son of Shaphan, Abdon son of Micah, Shaphan the scribe, and Asaiah the king’s servant,

His son Jehoshaphat replaced him as king and solidified his rule over Israel.

The king of Israel summoned an officer and said, “Quickly bring Micaiah son of Imlah.”

Manasseh passed away and was buried in his palace. His son Amon replaced him as king.

The residents of Jerusalem made his youngest son Ahaziah king in his place, for the raiding party that invaded the city with the Arabs had killed all the older sons. So Ahaziah son of Jehoram became king of Judah.

But the bronze altar made by Bezalel son of Uri, son of Hur, was in front of the Lord’s tabernacle. Solomon and the entire assembly prayed to him there.)

After King Amaziah of Judah consulted with his advisers, he sent this message to the king of Israel, Joash son of Jehoahaz, the son of Jehu, “Come, face me on the battlefield.”

Solomon son of David solidified his royal authority, for the Lord his God was with him and magnified him greatly.

“Say this to King Rehoboam son of Solomon of Judah and to all the Israelites in Judah and Benjamin,

Rehoboam appointed Abijah son of Maacah as the leader over his brothers, for he intended to name him his successor.

Then Rehoboam passed away and was buried in the City of David. His son Abijah replaced him as king.
