For what does it benefit a person if he gains the whole world but loses or forfeits himself?

For all the nations of the world pursue these things, and your Father knows that you need them.

Then the devil led him up to a high place and showed him in a flash all the kingdoms of the world.

so that this generation may be held accountable for the blood of all the prophets that has been shed since the beginning of the world,

If then you haven’t been trustworthy in handling worldly wealth, who will entrust you with the true riches?

People will be fainting from fear and from the expectation of what is coming on the world, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken.

And I tell you, make friends for yourselves by how you use worldly wealth, so that when it runs out you will be welcomed into the eternal homes.

The master commended the dishonest manager because he acted shrewdly. For the people of this world are more shrewd in dealing with their contemporaries than the people of light.

Now in those days a decree went out from Caesar Augustus to register all the empire for taxes.

who will not receive many times more in this age – and in the age to come, eternal life.”

as he spoke through the mouth of his holy prophets from long ago,

So Jesus said to them, “The people of this age marry and are given in marriage.

But those who are regarded as worthy to share in that age and in the resurrection from the dead neither marry nor are given in marriage.

“Now, according to your word, Sovereign Lord, permit your servant to depart in peace.

Those who heard this said, “Then who can be saved?”

Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.

Just as it was in the days of Noah, so too it will be in the days of the Son of Man.
