While they were eating, he took bread, and after giving thanks he broke it, gave it to them, and said, “Take it. This is my body.”

They watched Jesus closely to see if he would heal him on the Sabbath, so that they could accuse him.

For he had healed many, so that all who were afflicted with diseases pressed toward him in order to touch him.

They cast out many demons and anointed many sick people with oil and healed them.

Now when Jesus had left the crowd and entered the house, his disciples asked him about the parable.

His disciples answered him, “Where can someone get enough bread in this desolate place to satisfy these people?”

After he took the children in his arms, he placed his hands on them and blessed them.

The man said to him, “Teacher, I have wholeheartedly obeyed all these laws since my youth.”

But it is not this way among you. Instead whoever wants to be great among you must be your servant,

Many spread their cloaks on the road and others spread branches they had cut in the fields.

Then they sent some of the Pharisees and Herodians to trap him with his own words.

Then he began to curse, and he swore with an oath, “I do not know this man you are talking about!”

During the feast it was customary to release one prisoner to the people, whomever they requested.

When his daughter Herodias came in and danced, she pleased Herod and his dinner guests. The king said to the girl, “Ask me for whatever you want and I will give it to you.”

For if anyone is ashamed of me and my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man will also be ashamed of him when he comes in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.”

The chief priests and the experts in the law heard it and they considered how they could assassinate him, for they feared him, because the whole crowd was amazed by his teaching.

Now some of the experts in the law were sitting there, turning these things over in their minds:

Then they asked Jesus to leave their region.

So they went out and preached that all should repent.

So they reclined in groups of hundreds and fifties.
