These are the things that defile a person; it is not eating with unwashed hands that defiles a person.”

So he answered, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.”

Jesus said to them, “How many loaves do you have?” They replied, “Seven – and a few small fish.”

He said, “When evening comes you say, ‘It will be fair weather, because the sky is red,’

“Watch out,” Jesus said to them, “beware of the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees.”

When Jesus learned of this, he said, “You who have such little faith! Why are you arguing among yourselves about having no bread?

Simon Peter answered, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”

After he said, “From foreigners,” Jesus said to him, “Then the sons are free.

The lord had compassion on that slave and released him, and forgave him the debt.

But he refused. Instead, he went out and threw him in prison until he repaid the debt.

He said to them, “Not everyone can accept this statement, except those to whom it has been given.

But when the young man heard this he went away sorrowful, for he was very rich.

And after agreeing with the workers for the standard wage, he sent them into his vineyard.

And the landowner replied to one of them, ‘Friend, I am not treating you unfairly. Didn’t you agree with me to work for the standard wage?

Take what is yours and go. I want to give to this last man the same as I gave to you.

Moved with compassion, Jesus touched their eyes. Immediately they received their sight and followed him.

And the crowds were saying, “This is the prophet Jesus, from Nazareth in Galilee.”

But if we say, ‘From people,’ we fear the crowd, for they all consider John to be a prophet.”

Finally he sent his son to them, saying, ‘They will respect my son.’

The one who falls on this stone will be broken to pieces, and the one on whom it falls will be crushed.”
