And if you haven’t been trustworthy with someone else’s property, who will give you your own?

Now a certain ruler asked him, “Good teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?”

Jesus said to him, “Why do you call me good? No one is good except God alone.

If anyone asks you, ‘Why are you untying it?’ just say, ‘The Lord needs it.’”

As they were untying the colt, its owners asked them, “Why are you untying that colt?”

but they could not find a way to do it, for all the people hung on his words.

So they threw him out of the vineyard and killed him. What then will the owner of the vineyard do to them?

“Show me a denarius. Whose image and inscription are on it?” They said, “Caesar’s.”

In the resurrection, therefore, whose wife will the woman be? For all seven had married her.”

So he said to them, “Why are you sleeping? Get up and pray that you will not fall into temptation!”

They blindfolded him and asked him repeatedly, “Prophesy! Who hit you?”

Then they said, “Why do we need further testimony? We have heard it ourselves from his own lips!”

Then he said to them, “What are these matters you are discussing so intently as you walk along?” And they stood still, looking sad.

Jesus replied, “Woman, why are you saying this to me? My time has not yet come.”

So then the Jewish leaders responded, “What sign can you show us, since you are doing these things?”

They asked him, “Who is the man who said to you, ‘Pick up your mat and walk’?”

Simon Peter answered him, “Lord, to whom would we go? You have the words of eternal life.

In the law Moses commanded us to stone to death such women. What then do you say?”

Why don’t you understand what I am saying? It is because you cannot accept my teaching.

Many of them were saying, “He is possessed by a demon and has lost his mind! Why do you listen to him?”
