When Jesus heard this he said, “Those who are healthy don’t need a physician, but those who are sick do.

he said, “Go away, for the girl is not dead but asleep.” And they began making fun of him.

For it is not you speaking, but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you.

And whoever does not take up his cross and follow me is not worthy of me.

Then Jesus began to criticize openly the cities in which he had done many of his miracles, because they did not repent.

If you had known what this means: ‘I want mercy and not sacrifice,’ you would not have condemned the innocent.

But he said, ‘No, since in gathering the weeds you may uproot the wheat with them.

But he replied, “They don’t need to go. You give them something to eat.”

These are the things that defile a person; it is not eating with unwashed hands that defiles a person.”

For where two or three are assembled in my name, I am there among them.”

And in anger his lord turned him over to the prison guards to torture him until he repaid all he owed.

He said to them, “Not everyone can accept this statement, except those to whom it has been given.

Tell us then, what do you think? Is it right to pay taxes to Caesar or not?”
