But wisdom is vindicated by all her children.”

Then his disciples asked him what this parable meant.

Those who had seen it told them how the man who had been demon-possessed had been healed.

But Jesus gently took her by the hand and said, “Child, get up.”

and he sent them out to proclaim the kingdom of God and to heal the sick.

So he said to them, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.

He said to him, “What is written in the law? How do you understand it?”

Therefore see to it that the light in you is not darkness.

The Pharisee was astonished when he saw that Jesus did not first wash his hands before the meal.

For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

“Get dressed for service and keep your lamps burning;

Again he said, “To what should I compare the kingdom of God?

For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but the one who humbles himself will be exalted.”

“Salt is good, but if salt loses its flavor, how can its flavor be restored?

Now all the tax collectors and sinners were coming to hear him.

Bring the fattened calf and kill it! Let us eat and celebrate,

The apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith!”

He won’t thank the slave because he did what he was told, will he?
