And as he sowed, some seed fell along the path, and the birds came and devoured it.

When he was alone, those around him with the twelve asked him about the parables.

Jesus asked him, “What is your name?” And he said, “My name is Legion, for we are many.”

She answered, “Yes, Lord, but even the dogs under the table eat the children’s crumbs.”

Now they had forgotten to take bread, except for one loaf they had with them in the boat.

For what benefit is it for a person to gain the whole world, yet forfeit his life?

Then they asked him, “Why do the experts in the law say that Elijah must come first?”

But they were silent, for on the way they had argued with one another about who was the greatest.

He said to it, “May no one ever eat fruit from you again.” And his disciples heard it.

Sadducees (who say there is no resurrection) also came to him and asked him,

If David himself calls him ‘Lord,’ how can he be his son?” And the large crowd was listening to him with delight.

“Tell us, when will these things happen? And what will be the sign that all these things are about to take place?”

Many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am he,’ and they will mislead many.

“But in those days, after that suffering, the sun will be darkened and the moon will not give its light;

Then they led Jesus to the high priest, and all the chief priests and elders and experts in the law came together.

But the chief priests stirred up the crowd to have him release Barabbas instead.

Then they crucified him and divided his clothes, throwing dice for them, to decide what each would take.

The angel came to her and said, “Greetings, favored one, the Lord is with you!”

he has filled the hungry with good things, and has sent the rich away empty.

Now there were shepherds nearby living out in the field, keeping guard over their flock at night.
