If I do not perform the deeds of my Father, do not believe me.

“Why wasn’t this oil sold for three hundred silver coins and the money given to the poor?”

For you will always have the poor with you, but you will not always have me!”

Although Jesus had performed so many miraculous signs before them, they still refused to believe in him,

For this reason they could not believe, because again Isaiah said,

They will do these things because they have not known the Father or me.

“I have many more things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now.

For these things happened so that the scripture would be fulfilled, “Not a bone of his will be broken.”

He bent down and saw the strips of linen cloth lying there, but he did not go in.

for it is impossible for us not to speak about what we have seen and heard.”

Yet they were not able to resist the wisdom and the Spirit with which he spoke.

until another king who did not know about Joseph ruled over Egypt.

Yet the Most High does not live in houses made by human hands, as the prophet says,

You received the law by decrees given by angels, but you did not obey it.”

For three days he could not see, and he neither ate nor drank anything.

But the crowd began to shout, “The voice of a god, and not of a man!”

Therefore he also says in another psalm, ‘You will not permit your Holy One to experience decay.’

but the one whom God raised up did not experience decay.

When they asked him to stay longer, he would not consent,
