And he summoned ten of his slaves, gave them ten minas, and said to them, ‘Do business with these until I come back.’

Then another slave came and said, ‘Sir, here is your mina that I put away for safekeeping in a piece of cloth.

For I was afraid of you, because you are a severe man. You withdraw what you did not deposit and reap what you did not sow.’

‘I tell you that everyone who has will be given more, but from the one who does not have, even what he has will be taken away.

saying to them, “It is written, ‘My house will be a house of prayer,’ but you have turned it into a den of robbers!”

So they discussed it with one another, saying, “If we say, ‘From heaven,’ he will say, ‘Why did you not believe him?’

And in the same way he took the cup after they had eaten, saying, “This cup that is poured out for you is the new covenant in my blood.

Then Jesus said to them, “When I sent you out with no money bag, or traveler’s bag, or sandals, you didn’t lack anything, did you?” They replied, “Nothing.”

Then a little later someone else saw him and said, “You are one of them too.” But Peter said, “Man, I am not!”

But Peter said, “Man, I don’t know what you’re talking about!” At that moment, while he was still speaking, a rooster crowed.

But Jesus turned to them and said, “Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for me, but weep for yourselves and for your children.

Then some of those who were with us went to the tomb, and found it just as the women had said, but they did not see him.”

but they urged him, “Stay with us, because it is getting toward evening and the day is almost done.” So he went in to stay with them.

So they asked him, “Then who are you? Are you Elijah?” He said, “I am not!” “Are you the Prophet?” He answered, “No!”

John said, “I am the voice of one shouting in the wilderness, ‘Make straight the way for the Lord,’ as Isaiah the prophet said.”

Then John testified, “I saw the Spirit descending like a dove from heaven, and it remained on him.

He first found his own brother Simon and told him, “We have found the Messiah!” (which is translated Christ).

On the next day Jesus wanted to set out for Galilee. He found Philip and said to him, “Follow me.”

To those who sold the doves he said, “Take these things away from here! Do not make my Father’s house a marketplace!”

Jesus replied, “I tell you the solemn truth, unless a person is born from above, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
