Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.

For the unconverted pursue these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them.

Then the entire town came out to meet Jesus. And when they saw him, they begged him to leave their region.

When the disciples saw him walking on the water they were terrified and said, “It’s a ghost!” and cried out with fear.

When his fellow slaves saw what had happened, they were very upset and went and told their lord everything that had taken place.

But Jesus called them and said, “You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and those in high positions use their authority over them.

So they answered Jesus, “We don’t know.” Then he said to them, “Neither will I tell you by what authority I am doing these things.

Jesus answered them, “You are deceived, because you don’t know the scriptures or the power of God.

For I tell you, you will not see me from now until you say, ‘Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord!’”

“So when you see the abomination of desolation – spoken about by Daniel the prophet – standing in the holy place (let the reader understand),

“But as for that day and hour no one knows it – not even the angels in heaven – except the Father alone.

The one with the two talents also came and said, ‘Sir, you entrusted two talents to me. See, I have gained two more.’

Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink?

“You know that after two days the Passover is coming, and the Son of Man will be handed over to be crucified.”

But Peter was following him from a distance, all the way to the high priest’s courtyard. After going in, he sat with the guards to see the outcome.
