because they poured out the blood of your saints and prophets, so you have given them blood to drink. They got what they deserved!”

the people who sit in darkness have seen a great light, and on those who sit in the region and shadow of death a light has dawned.”

Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.

In everything, treat others as you would want them to treat you, for this fulfills the law and the prophets.

But he said to them, “Why are you cowardly, you people of little faith?” Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the sea, and it was dead calm.

Jesus called his twelve disciples and gave them authority over unclean spirits so they could cast them out and heal every kind of disease and sickness.

Jesus sent out these twelve, instructing them as follows: “Do not go to Gentile regions and do not enter any Samaritan town.

For this reason I speak to them in parables: Although they see they do not see, and although they hear they do not hear nor do they understand.

He presented them with another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like a person who sowed good seed in his field.

He said, ‘An enemy has done this.’ So the slaves replied, ‘Do you want us to go and gather them?’

And so they took offense at him. But Jesus said to them, “A prophet is not without honor except in his hometown and in his own house.”

He answered them, “And why do you disobey the commandment of God because of your tradition?

When they gathered together in Galilee, Jesus told them, “The Son of Man is going to be betrayed into the hands of men.

Jesus said to them, “Moses permitted you to divorce your wives because of your hard hearts, but from the beginning it was not this way.

And about five o’clock that afternoon he went out and found others standing around, and said to them, ‘Why are you standing here all day without work?’

As Jesus was going up to Jerusalem, he took the twelve aside privately and said to them on the way,

The crowd scolded them to get them to be quiet. But they shouted even more loudly, “Lord, have mercy on us, Son of David!”

telling them, “Go to the village ahead of you. Right away you will find a donkey tied there, and a colt with her. Untie them and bring them to me.

And he said to them, “It is written, ‘My house will be called a house of prayer,’ but you are turning it into a den of robbers!”

So they answered Jesus, “We don’t know.” Then he said to them, “Neither will I tell you by what authority I am doing these things.
