(Now the Jewish feast of the Passover was near.)

None of the rulers or the Pharisees have believed in him, have they?

and said to Jesus, “Teacher, this woman was caught in the very act of adultery.

and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

Instead your hearts are filled with sadness because I have said these things to you.

For these things happened so that the scripture would be fulfilled, “Not a bone of his will be broken.”

And how is it that each one of us hears them in our own native language?

But I said, ‘Certainly not, Lord, for nothing defiled or ritually unclean has ever entered my mouth!’

After we had safely reached shore, we learned that the island was called Malta.

Or is God the God of the Jews only? Is he not the God of the Gentiles too? Yes, of the Gentiles too!

What shall we say then? Are we to remain in sin so that grace may increase?

So then, the law is holy, and the commandment is holy, righteous, and good.

But now it is no longer me doing it, but sin that lives in me.

For the creation eagerly waits for the revelation of the sons of God.

For we know that the whole creation groans and suffers together until now.

or “Who will descend into the abyss?” (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead).

For the scripture says, “Everyone who believes in him will not be put to shame.”

And if it is by grace, it is no longer by works, otherwise grace would no longer be grace.

And this is my covenant with them, when I take away their sins.”

For the gifts and the call of God are irrevocable.
