“When an unclean spirit goes out of a person, it passes through waterless places looking for rest but does not find it.

He presented them with another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like a person who sowed good seed in his field.

But while everyone was sleeping, an enemy came and sowed weeds among the wheat and went away.

He said, ‘An enemy has done this.’ So the slaves replied, ‘Do you want us to go and gather them?’

The Son of Man will send his angels, and they will gather from his kingdom everything that causes sin as well as all lawbreakers.

Woe to the world because of stumbling blocks! It is necessary that stumbling blocks come, but woe to the person through whom they come.

“For this reason, the kingdom of heaven is like a king who wanted to settle accounts with his slaves.

The disciples said to him, “If this is the case of a husband with a wife, it is better not to marry!”

“For the kingdom of heaven is like a landowner who went out early in the morning to hire workers for his vineyard.

“Look, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be handed over to the chief priests and the experts in the law. They will condemn him to death,

just as the Son of Man did not come to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

“What do you think? A man had two sons. He went to the first and said, ‘Son, go and work in the vineyard today.’

They tie up heavy loads, hard to carry, and put them on men’s shoulders, but they themselves are not willing even to lift a finger to move them.

They do all their deeds to be seen by people, for they make their phylacteries wide and their tassels long.

For just like the lightning comes from the east and flashes to the west, so the coming of the Son of Man will be.

And they knew nothing until the flood came and took them all away. It will be the same at the coming of the Son of Man.

“When the Son of Man comes in his glory and all the angels with him, then he will sit on his glorious throne.

“You know that after two days the Passover is coming, and the Son of Man will be handed over to be crucified.”

But so that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins,” – he said to the paralytic –

I tell you the truth, people will be forgiven for all sins, even all the blasphemies they utter.
