Jesus answered him, “It is said, ‘You are not to put the Lord your God to the test.’”

For Peter and all who were with him were astonished at the catch of fish that they had taken,

A centurion there had a slave who was highly regarded, but who was sick and at the point of death.

So he was told, “Your mother and your brothers are standing outside, wanting to see you.”

But when Jesus heard this, he told him, “Do not be afraid; just believe, and she will be healed.”

Now on the next day, when they had come down from the mountain, a large crowd met him.

He sent messengers on ahead of him. As they went along, they entered a Samaritan village to make things ready in advance for him,

because a friend of mine has stopped here while on a journey, and I have nothing to set before him.’

What father among you, if your son asks for a fish, will give him a snake instead of a fish?

As he spoke, a Pharisee invited Jesus to have a meal with him, so he went in and took his place at the table.

One of the experts in religious law answered him, “Teacher, when you say these things you insult us too.”

But Jesus said to him, “Man, who made me a judge or arbitrator between you two?”

Someone asked him, “Lord, will only a few be saved?” So he said to them,

But Jesus said to him, “A man once gave a great banquet and invited many guests.

Otherwise, when he has laid a foundation and is not able to finish the tower, all who see it will begin to make fun of him.

He was longing to eat the carob pods the pigs were eating, but no one gave him anything.

Then the father said to him, ‘Son, you are always with me, and everything that belongs to me is yours.

He fell with his face to the ground at Jesus’ feet and thanked him. (Now he was a Samaritan.)

Now people were even bringing their babies to him for him to touch. But when the disciples saw it, they began to scold those who brought them.

Jesus said to him, “Why do you call me good? No one is good except God alone.
