then his sister-in-law must approach him in view of the elders, remove his sandal from his foot, and spit in his face. She will then respond, “Thus may it be done to any man who does not maintain his brother’s family line!”

So the saying circulated among the brothers and sisters that this disciple was not going to die. But Jesus did not say to him that he was not going to die, but rather, “If I want him to live until I come back, what concern is that of yours?”

I saw that she was defiled; both of them followed the same path.

A crowd was sitting around him and they said to him, “Look, your mother and your brothers are outside looking for you.”

The church in Babylon, chosen together with you, greets you, and so does Mark, my son.

I will declare your name to my countrymen! In the middle of the assembly I will praise you!

saying, “I will proclaim your name to my brothers; in the midst of the assembly I will praise you.”

The one who says he is in the light but still hates his fellow Christian is still in the darkness.

And the commandment we have from him is this: that the one who loves God should love his fellow Christian too.

If anyone says “I love God” and yet hates his fellow Christian, he is a liar, because the one who does not love his fellow Christian whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen.
