Now in the region around that place were fields belonging to the chief official of the island, named Publius, who welcomed us and entertained us hospitably as guests for three days.

ע (Ayin) Our eyes continually failed us as we looked in vain for help. From our watchtowers we watched for a nation that could not rescue us.

They also bestowed many honors, and when we were preparing to sail, they gave us all the supplies we needed.

“We will not listen to what you claim the Lord has spoken to us!

The crown has fallen from our head; woe to us, for we have sinned!

So they came and woke him up saying, “Lord, save us! We are about to die!”

In reply all the people said, “Let his blood be on us and on our children!”

He will show you a large room upstairs, furnished and ready. Make preparations for us there.”

Jesus sent Peter and John, saying, “Go and prepare the Passover for us to eat.”

But they all shouted out together, “Take this man away! Release Barabbas for us!”

even us, whom he has called, not only from the Jews but also from the Gentiles?

So then, let us pursue what makes for peace and for building up one another.

Let each of us please his neighbor for his good to build him up.

Now God indeed raised the Lord and he will raise us by his power.

They said to him, “Look, you are old, and your sons don’t follow your ways. So now appoint over us a king to lead us, just like all the other nations have.”

But if they say, ‘Come up against us,’ we will go up. For in that case the Lord has given them into our hand – it will be a sign to us.”

So Peter said to Jesus, “Rabbi, it is good for us to be here. Let us make three shelters – one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.”

If one of us has it, he will die, and the rest of us will become my lord’s slaves!”

Then Abimelech said to Isaac, “Leave us and go elsewhere, for you have become much more powerful than we are.”

For God did not destine us for wrath but for gaining salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ.
