Jesus replied, “Are you saying this on your own initiative, or have others told you about me?”

So the commanding officer came and asked Paul, “Tell me, are you a Roman citizen?” He replied, “Yes.”

Or these men here should tell what crime they found me guilty of when I stood before the council,

And tell Archippus, “See to it that you complete the ministry you received in the Lord.”

A certain one of them, in fact, one of their own prophets, said, “Cretans are always liars, evil beasts, lazy gluttons.”

In fact, the scene was so terrifying that Moses said, “I shudder with fear.”

If we say we do not bear the guilt of sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us.
