Sighing deeply in his spirit he said, “Why does this generation look for a sign? I tell you the truth, no sign will be given to this generation.”

They said, “John the Baptist, others say Elijah, and still others, one of the prophets.”

Then a cloud overshadowed them, and a voice came from the cloud, “This is my one dear Son. Listen to him!”

For even the Son of Man did not come to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

Jesus said to him, “Go, your faith has healed you.” Immediately he regained his sight and followed him on the road.

Now as they approached Jerusalem, near Bethphage and Bethany, at the Mount of Olives, Jesus sent two of his disciples

Then they brought the colt to Jesus, threw their cloaks on it, and he sat on it.

Then Jesus entered Jerusalem and went to the temple. And after looking around at everything, he went out to Bethany with the twelve since it was already late.

But those tenants said to one another, ‘This is the heir. Come, let’s kill him and the inheritance will be ours!’

Then he sat down opposite the offering box, and watched the crowd putting coins into it. Many rich people were throwing in large amounts.

For they all gave out of their wealth. But she, out of her poverty, put in what she had to live on, everything she had.”

So while he was sitting on the Mount of Olives opposite the temple, Peter, James, John, and Andrew asked him privately,

And if the Lord had not cut short those days, no one would be saved. But because of the elect, whom he chose, he has cut them short.

Then he will send angels and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of heaven.

So the disciples left, went into the city, and found things just as he had told them, and they prepared the Passover.

Then Jesus said to them, “You will all fall away, for it is written, ‘I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered.’

When she saw Peter warming himself, she looked directly at him and said, “You also were with that Nazarene, Jesus.”

But he denied it again. A short time later the bystanders again said to Peter, “You must be one of them, because you are also a Galilean.”

So Pilate spoke to them again, “Then what do you want me to do with the one you call king of the Jews?”

Now when the centurion, who stood in front of him, saw how he died, he said, “Truly this man was God’s Son!”
