The Lord is not slow concerning his promise, as some regard slowness, but is being patient toward you, because he does not wish for any to perish but for all to come to repentance.

And regard the patience of our Lord as salvation, just as also our dear brother Paul wrote to you, according to the wisdom given to him,

Children, it is the last hour, and just as you heard that the antichrist is coming, so now many antichrists have appeared. We know from this that it is the last hour.

And now, little children, remain in him, so that when he appears we may have confidence and not shrink away from him in shame when he comes back.

Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to determine if they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.

But now I ask you, lady (not as if I were writing a new commandment to you, but the one we have had from the beginning), that we love one another.

“To the angel of the church in Smyrna write the following: “This is the solemn pronouncement of the one who is the first and the last, the one who was dead, but came to life:

Therefore, repent! If not, I will come against you quickly and make war against those people with the sword of my mouth.

and a third of the creatures living in the sea died, and a third of the ships were completely destroyed.

Then a measuring rod like a staff was given to me, and I was told, “Get up and measure the temple of God, and the altar, and the ones who worship there.

Now when the dragon realized that he had been thrown down to the earth, he pursued the woman who had given birth to the male child.

Now I heard the angel of the waters saying: “You are just – the one who is and who was, the Holy One – because you have passed these judgments,

(Look! I will come like a thief! Blessed is the one who stays alert and does not lose his clothes so that he will not have to walk around naked and his shameful condition be seen.)

Finally the seventh angel poured out his bowl into the air and a loud voice came out of the temple from the throne, saying: “It is done!”

Then the angel said to me, “The waters you saw (where the prostitute is seated) are peoples, multitudes, nations, and languages.

As for the woman you saw, she is the great city that has sovereignty over the kings of the earth.”

(Rejoice over her, O heaven, and you saints and apostles and prophets, for God has pronounced judgment against her on your behalf!)

Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and earth had ceased to exist, and the sea existed no more.

“Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near.”
