Salt is good, but if it loses its saltiness, how can you make it salty again? Have salt in yourselves, and be at peace with each other.”

Now as Jesus was starting out on his way, someone ran up to him, fell on his knees, and said, “Good teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?”

Then Jesus said to him, “What do you want me to do for you?” The blind man replied, “Rabbi, let me see again.”

If anyone says to you, ‘Why are you doing this?’ say, ‘The Lord needs it and will send it back here soon.’”

and said, “By what authority are you doing these things? Or who gave you this authority to do these things?”

What then will the owner of the vineyard do? He will come and destroy those tenants and give the vineyard to others.

So they brought one, and he said to them, “Whose image is this, and whose inscription?” They replied, “Caesar’s.”

When he came again he found them sleeping; they could not keep their eyes open. And they did not know what to tell him.

Then the high priest stood up before them and asked Jesus, “Have you no answer? What is this that they are testifying against you?”

But he denied it: “I don’t even understand what you’re talking about!” Then he went out to the gateway, and a rooster crowed.

So Pilate spoke to them again, “Then what do you want me to do with the one you call king of the Jews?”

But he replied, “Why were you looking for me? Didn’t you know that I must be in my Father’s house?”

So John said to the crowds that came out to be baptized by him, “You offspring of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the coming wrath?

When Jesus perceived their hostile thoughts, he said to them, “Why are you raising objections within yourselves?

But the Pharisees and their experts in the law complained to his disciples, saying, “Why do you eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners?”

Why do you see the speck in your brother’s eye, but fail to see the beam of wood in your own?

“Everyone who comes to me and listens to my words and puts them into practice – I will show you what he is like:

When John’s messengers had gone, Jesus began to speak to the crowds about John: “What did you go out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken by the wind?

What did you go out to see? A man dressed in fancy clothes? Look, those who wear fancy clothes and live in luxury are in kings’ courts!

Jesus then asked him, “What is your name?” He said, “Legion,” because many demons had entered him.
