When he entered he said to them, “Why are you distressed and weeping? The child is not dead but asleep.”

He said to them, “Wherever you enter a house, stay there until you leave the area.

He swore to her, “Whatever you ask I will give you, up to half my kingdom.”

Although it grieved the king deeply, he did not want to reject her request because of his oath and his guests.

Send them away so that they can go into the surrounding countryside and villages and buy something for themselves to eat.”

When evening came, the boat was in the middle of the sea and he was alone on the land.

When they saw him walking on the water they thought he was a ghost. They cried out,

Then he went up with them into the boat, and the wind ceased. They were completely astonished,

And they saw that some of Jesus’ disciples ate their bread with unclean hands, that is, unwashed.

He also said to them, “You neatly reject the commandment of God in order to set up your tradition.

Then he called the crowd again and said to them, “Listen to me, everyone, and understand.

Then he said to her, “Because you said this, you may go. The demon has left your daughter.”

Then he looked up to heaven and said with a sigh, “Ephphatha” (that is, “Be opened”).

Immediately he got into a boat with his disciples and went to the district of Dalmanutha.

And Jesus ordered them, “Watch out! Beware of the yeast of the Pharisees and the yeast of Herod!”

“When I broke the seven loaves for the four thousand, how many baskets full of pieces did you pick up?” They replied, “Seven.”

Then Jesus placed his hands on the man’s eyes again. And he opened his eyes, his sight was restored, and he saw everything clearly.

For what benefit is it for a person to gain the whole world, yet forfeit his life?

Then they asked him, “Why do the experts in the law say that Elijah must come first?”

Then Jesus said to him, “‘If you are able?’ All things are possible for the one who believes.”
