He spoke openly about this. So Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him.

Then they asked him, “Why do the experts in the law say that Elijah must come first?”

But I tell you that Elijah has certainly come, and they did to him whatever they wanted, just as it is written about him.”

They will mock him, spit on him, flog him severely, and kill him. Yet after three days, he will rise again.”

So they went and found a colt tied at a door, outside in the street, and untied it.

Then Judas Iscariot, one of the twelve, went to the chief priests to betray Jesus into their hands.

When they heard this, they were delighted and promised to give him money. So Judas began looking for an opportunity to betray him.

You have heard the blasphemy! What is your verdict?” They all condemned him as deserving death.

When the slave girl saw him, she began again to say to the bystanders, “This man is one of them.”

So Pilate asked him again, “Have you nothing to say? See how many charges they are bringing against you!”

Pilate asked them, “Why? What has he done wrong?” But they shouted more insistently, “Crucify him!”

So the soldiers led him into the palace (that is, the governor’s residence) and called together the whole cohort.

Then they crucified him and divided his clothes, throwing dice for them, to decide what each would take.

Pilate was surprised that he was already dead. He called the centurion and asked him if he had been dead for some time.

Now while Zechariah was serving as priest before God when his division was on duty,

Now the people were waiting for Zechariah, and they began to wonder why he was delayed in the holy place.

Jesus answered him, “It is written, ‘Man does not live by bread alone.’”

Then the devil led him up to a high place and showed him in a flash all the kingdoms of the world.

For Peter and all who were with him were astonished at the catch of fish that they had taken,

So the dead man sat up and began to speak, and Jesus gave him back to his mother.
