Pharaoh was thinking, “The people of the land are now many, and you are giving them rest from their labor.”

But Pharaoh replied, “You are slackers! Slackers! That is why you are saying, ‘Let us go sacrifice to the Lord.’

But Moses said before the Lord, “Since I speak with difficulty, why should Pharaoh listen to me?”

So the Lord said to Moses, “See, I have made you like God to Pharaoh, and your brother Aaron will be your prophet.

The Lord said to Moses, “Pharaoh’s heart is hard; he refuses to release the people.

Then Pharaoh summoned Moses and Aaron and said, “Go, sacrifice to your God within the land.”

Then Pharaoh quickly summoned Moses and Aaron and said, “I have sinned against the Lord your God and against you!

But Moses said, “Will you also provide us with sacrifices and burnt offerings that we may present them to the Lord our God?

Moses said, “As you wish! I will not see your face again.”

Moses said, “Thus says the Lord: ‘About midnight I will go throughout Egypt,

The Lord said to Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt,

The Lord said to Moses, “Why do you cry out to me? Tell the Israelites to move on.

Moses said to them, “No one is to keep any of it until morning.”

Moses said, “Eat it today, for today is a Sabbath to the Lord; today you will not find it in the area.

So the Lord said to Moses, “How long do you refuse to obey my commandments and my instructions?

for he said, “For a hand was lifted up to the throne of the Lord – that the Lord will have war with Amalek from generation to generation.”

He said to Moses, “I, your father-in-law Jethro, am coming to you, along with your wife and her two sons with her.”

Moses said to his father-in-law, “Because the people come to me to inquire of God.

Moses’ father-in-law said to him, “What you are doing is not good!

The Lord said to Moses, “Go to the people and sanctify them today and tomorrow, and make them wash their clothes
