Those who had seen it told them how the man who had been demon-possessed had been healed.

But Jesus gently took her by the hand and said, “Child, get up.”

Now the day began to draw to a close, so the twelve came and said to Jesus, “Send the crowd away, so they can go into the surrounding villages and countryside and find lodging and food, because we are in an isolated place.”

Now an argument started among the disciples as to which of them might be the greatest.

But it will be more bearable for Tyre and Sidon in the judgment than for you!

When it returns, it finds the house swept clean and put in order.

The Pharisee was astonished when he saw that Jesus did not first wash his hands before the meal.

He then told them a parable: “The land of a certain rich man produced an abundant crop,

“Get dressed for service and keep your lamps burning;

I tell you the truth, the master will put him in charge of all his possessions.

And when you see the south wind blowing, you say, ‘There will be scorching heat,’ and there is.

“And why don’t you judge for yourselves what is right?

Then if it bears fruit next year, very well, but if not, you can cut it down.’”

Again he said, “To what should I compare the kingdom of God?

But they remained silent. So Jesus took hold of the man, healed him, and sent him away.

So Jesus told them this parable:

Then when he has found it, he places it on his shoulders, rejoicing.

raised their voices and said, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us.”

Was no one found to turn back and give praise to God except this foreigner?”
