And you must tell the Israelites, ‘If a man dies and has no son, then you must transfer his inheritance to his daughter;

Then the Lord said to Moses, “Go up this mountain of the Abarim range, and see the land I have given to the Israelites.

So Moses did as the Lord commanded him; he took Joshua and set him before Eleazar the priest and before the whole community.

“‘On the tenth day of this seventh month you are to have a holy assembly. You must humble yourselves; you must not do any work on it.

(30:1) So Moses told the Israelites everything, just as the Lord had commanded him.

These are the statutes that the Lord commanded Moses, relating to a man and his wife, and a father and his young daughter who is still living in her father’s house.

So Moses gave orders about them to Eleazar the priest, to Joshua son of Nun, and to the heads of the families of the Israelite tribes.

Then the Gadites and the Reubenites answered, “Your servants will do what the Lord has spoken.

Nebo, Baal Meon (with a change of name), and Sibmah. They renamed the cities they built.

Now the Egyptians were burying all their firstborn, whom the Lord had killed among them; the Lord also executed judgments on their gods.

“Speak to the Israelites and tell them, ‘When you have crossed the Jordan into the land of Canaan,

“These are the names of the men who are to allocate the land to you as an inheritance: Eleazar the priest and Joshua son of Nun.

“Instruct the Israelites to give the Levites towns to live in from the inheritance the Israelites will possess. You must also give the Levites grazing land around the towns.
