For this reason they could not believe, because again Isaiah said,

Philip said, “Lord, show us the Father, and we will be content.”

If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it.

They will do these things because they have not known the Father or me.

And when he comes, he will prove the world wrong concerning sin and righteousness and judgment –

concerning righteousness, because I am going to the Father and you will see me no longer;

He will glorify me, because he will receive from me what is mine and will tell it to you.

Just as you sent me into the world, so I sent them into the world.

Then Pilate took Jesus and had him flogged severely.

Then Pilate handed him over to them to be crucified.So they took Jesus,

Then Peter and the other disciple set out to go to the tomb.

He bent down and saw the strips of linen cloth lying there, but he did not go in.

(For they did not yet understand the scripture that Jesus must rise from the dead.)

The other disciples told him, “We have seen the Lord!” But he replied, “Unless I see the wounds from the nails in his hands, and put my finger into the wounds from the nails, and put my hand into his side, I will never believe it!”

Thomas replied to him, “My Lord and my God!”

So when Peter saw him, he asked Jesus, “Lord, what about him?”

for he was counted as one of us and received a share in this ministry.”

So they proposed two candidates: Joseph called Barsabbas (also called Justus) and Matthias.

‘And in the last days it will be,’ God says, ‘that I will pour out my Spirit on all people, and your sons and your daughters will prophesy, and your young men will see visions, and your old men will dream dreams.

So the lame man paid attention to them, expecting to receive something from them.
