“Come, see a man who told me everything I ever did. Surely he can’t be the Messiah, can he?”

Philip replied, “Two hundred silver coins worth of bread would not be enough for them, for each one to get a little.”

Then Jesus said, “I will be with you for only a little while longer, and then I am going to the one who sent me.

They will never follow a stranger, but will run away from him, because they do not recognize the stranger’s voice.”

Many of them were saying, “He is possessed by a demon and has lost his mind! Why do you listen to him?”

Now a certain man named Lazarus was sick. He was from Bethany, the village where Mary and her sister Martha lived.

So they prepared a dinner for Jesus there. Martha was serving, and Lazarus was among those present at the table with him.

“I give you a new commandment – to love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another.

So they kept on repeating, “What is the meaning of what he says, ‘In a little while’? We do not understand what he is talking about.”

Pilate answered, “I am not a Jew, am I? Your own people and your chief priests handed you over to me. What have you done?”

After he had said this, while they were watching, he was lifted up and a cloud hid him from their sight.

Then they returned to Jerusalem from the mountain called the Mount of Olives (which is near Jerusalem, a Sabbath day’s journey away).

But his disciples took him at night and let him down through an opening in the wall by lowering him in a basket.

The Lord said to Paul by a vision in the night, “Do not be afraid, but speak and do not be silent,

For if by my lie the truth of God enhances his glory, why am I still actually being judged as a sinner?

I wish that you would be patient with me in a little foolishness, but indeed you are being patient with me!

For you know quite well that the day of the Lord will come in the same way as a thief in the night.

For perhaps it was for this reason that he was separated from you for a little while, so that you would have him back eternally,

At the same time also, prepare a place for me to stay, for I hope that through your prayers I will be given back to you.

Be sober and alert. Your enemy the devil, like a roaring lion, is on the prowl looking for someone to devour.
