Now people were even bringing their babies to him for him to touch. But when the disciples saw it, they began to scold those who brought them.

Now a certain ruler asked him, “Good teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?”

So he ran on ahead and climbed up into a sycamore tree to see him, because Jesus was going to pass that way.

Therefore he said, “A nobleman went to a distant country to receive for himself a kingdom and then return.

Then the second one came and said, ‘Sir, your mina has made five minas.’

If anyone asks you, ‘Why are you untying it?’ just say, ‘The Lord needs it.’”

“Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!”

But some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to him, “Teacher, rebuke your disciples.”

He answered, “I tell you, if they keep silent, the very stones will cry out!”

but they could not find a way to do it, for all the people hung on his words.

He answered them, “I will also ask you a question, and you tell me:

Then Jesus said to them, “Neither will I tell you by whose authority I do these things.”

So they threw him out of the vineyard and killed him. What then will the owner of the vineyard do to them?

“Show me a denarius. Whose image and inscription are on it?” They said, “Caesar’s.”

So he said to them, “Then give to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.”

In fact, they can no longer die, because they are equal to angels and are sons of God, since they are sons of the resurrection.

They devour widows’ property, and as a show make long prayers. They will receive a more severe punishment.”

He said, “I tell you the truth, this poor widow has put in more than all of them.

People will be fainting from fear and from the expectation of what is coming on the world, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken.

But when these things begin to happen, stand up and raise your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.”
