Then I heard every creature – in heaven, on earth, under the earth, in the sea, and all that is in them – singing: “To the one seated on the throne and to the Lamb be praise, honor, glory, and ruling power forever and ever!”

Then I saw a beast coming up out of the sea. It had ten horns and seven heads, and on its horns were ten diadem crowns, and on its heads a blasphemous name.

Then I saw thrones and seated on them were those who had been given authority to judge. I also saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of the testimony about Jesus and because of the word of God. These had not worshiped the beast or his image and had refused to receive his mark on their forehead or hand. They came to life and reigned with Christ for a thousand years.

People do not light a lamp and put it under a basket but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all in the house.

So then, if you bring your gift to the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you,

“Do not accumulate for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal.

No one sews a patch of unshrunk cloth on an old garment, because the patch will pull away from the garment and the tear will be worse.

What I say to you in the dark, tell in the light, and what is whispered in your ear, proclaim from the housetops.

Aren’t two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them falls to the ground apart from your Father’s will.

And pointing toward his disciples he said, “Here are my mother and my brothers!

And such a large crowd gathered around him that he got into a boat to sit while the whole crowd stood on the shore.

Other seeds fell on rocky ground where they did not have much soil. They sprang up quickly because the soil was not deep.

But other seeds fell on good soil and produced grain, some a hundred times as much, some sixty, and some thirty.

The seed sown on rocky ground is the person who hears the word and immediately receives it with joy.

When it was full, they pulled it ashore, sat down, and put the good fish into containers and threw the bad away.

Instructed by her mother, she said, “Give me the head of John the Baptist here on a platter.”

When the disciples saw him walking on the water they were terrified and said, “It’s a ghost!” and cried out with fear.

Peter said to him, “Lord, if it is you, order me to come to you on the water.”

So he said, “Come.” Peter got out of the boat, walked on the water, and came toward Jesus.

But if he does not listen, take one or two others with you, so that at the testimony of two or three witnesses every matter may be established.
