Do you think I have come to bring peace on earth? No, I tell you, but rather division!

“Exert every effort to enter through the narrow door, because many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able to.

Nevertheless I must go on my way today and tomorrow and the next day, because it is impossible that a prophet should be killed outside Jerusalem.’

Then you will be blessed, because they cannot repay you, for you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous.”

For I tell you, not one of those individuals who were invited will taste my banquet!’”

But the Pharisees and the experts in the law were complaining, “This man welcomes sinners and eats with them.”

Then one of them, when he saw he was healed, turned back, praising God with a loud voice.

So he ran on ahead and climbed up into a sycamore tree to see him, because Jesus was going to pass that way.

If anyone asks you, ‘Why are you untying it?’ just say, ‘The Lord needs it.’”

He said, “I tell you the truth, this poor widow has put in more than all of them.

Now while some were speaking about the temple, how it was adorned with beautiful stones and offerings, Jesus said,

“But when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then know that its desolation has come near.

So also you, when you see these things happening, know that the kingdom of God is near.

I tell you the truth, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place.

For I tell you, I will not eat it again until it is fulfilled in the kingdom of God.”

and said to them, “Thus it stands written that the Christ would suffer and would rise from the dead on the third day,

For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came about through Jesus Christ.

He confessed – he did not deny but confessed – “I am not the Christ!”

His disciples remembered that it was written, “Zeal for your house will devour me.”

So then the Jewish leaders responded, “What sign can you show us, since you are doing these things?”
