They said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping?” Mary replied, “They have taken my Lord away, and I do not know where they have put him!”

Jesus replied, “If I want him to live until I come back, what concern is that of yours? You follow me!”

Now when they heard this, they were acutely distressed and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “What should we do, brothers?”

Now when the commander of the temple guard and the chief priests heard this report, they were greatly puzzled concerning it, wondering what this could be.

In humiliation justice was taken from him. Who can describe his posterity? For his life was taken away from the earth.”

Then the eunuch said to Philip, “Please tell me, who is the prophet saying this about – himself or someone else?”

Now as they were going along the road, they came to some water, and the eunuch said, “Look, there is water! What is to stop me from being baptized?”

So Peter went down to the men and said, “Here I am, the person you’re looking for. Why have you come?”

So now why are you putting God to the test by placing on the neck of the disciples a yoke that neither our ancestors nor we have been able to bear?

So they took Paul and brought him to the Areopagus, saying, “May we know what this new teaching is that you are proclaiming?

But the evil spirit replied to them, “I know about Jesus and I am acquainted with Paul, but who are you?”

So then some were shouting one thing, some another, for the assembly was in confusion, and most of them did not know why they had met together.

I answered, ‘Who are you, Lord?’ He said to me, ‘I am Jesus the Nazarene, whom you are persecuting.’

When the centurion heard this, he went to the commanding officer and reported it, saying, “What are you about to do? For this man is a Roman citizen.”

The commanding officer took him by the hand, withdrew privately, and asked, “What is it that you want to report to me?”

So I said, ‘Who are you, Lord?’ And the Lord replied, ‘I am Jesus whom you are persecuting.

But if our unrighteousness demonstrates the righteousness of God, what shall we say? The God who inflicts wrath is not unrighteous, is he? (I am speaking in human terms.)

For if by my lie the truth of God enhances his glory, why am I still actually being judged as a sinner?

And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes on behalf of the saints according to God’s will.

Who will separate us from the love of Christ? Will trouble, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword?
