and they summoned the apostles and had them beaten. Then they ordered them not to speak in the name of Jesus and released them.

This was the one who exploited our people and was cruel to our ancestors, forcing them to abandon their infants so they would die.

He thought his own people would understand that God was delivering them through him, but they did not understand.

“Look!” he said. “I see the heavens opened, and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God!”

When they had driven him out of the city, they began to stone him, and the witnesses laid their cloaks at the feet of a young man named Saul.

But Saul was trying to destroy the church; entering one house after another, he dragged off both men and women and put them in prison.

But Saul became more and more capable, and was causing consternation among the Jews who lived in Damascus by proving that Jesus is the Christ.

He gave her his hand and helped her get up. Then he called the saints and widows and presented her alive.

So Peter went down to the men and said, “Here I am, the person you’re looking for. Why have you come?”

So when Peter came in, Cornelius met him, fell at his feet, and worshiped him.

While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell on all those who heard the message.

But there were some men from Cyprus and Cyrene among them who came to Antioch and began to speak to the Greeks too, proclaiming the good news of the Lord Jesus.

When Herod had searched for him and did not find him, he questioned the guards and commanded that they be led away to execution. Then Herod went down from Judea to Caesarea and stayed there.

And we proclaim to you the good news about the promise to our ancestors,

For David, after he had served God’s purpose in his own generation, died, was buried with his ancestors, and experienced decay,

The priest of the temple of Zeus, located just outside the city, brought bulls and garlands to the city gates; he and the crowds wanted to offer sacrifices to them.

But Jews came from Antioch and Iconium, and after winning the crowds over, they stoned Paul and dragged him out of the city, presuming him to be dead.

Now some men came down from Judea and began to teach the brothers, “Unless you are circumcised according to the custom of Moses, you cannot be saved.”

For Moses has had those who proclaim him in every town from ancient times, because he is read aloud in the synagogues every Sabbath.”

Receiving such orders, he threw them in the inner cell and fastened their feet in the stocks.
