Haran died in the land of his birth, in Ur of the Chaldeans, while his father Terah was still alive.

When the men got up to leave, they looked out over Sodom. (Now Abraham was walking with them to see them on their way.)

The two men turned and headed toward Sodom, but Abraham was still standing before the Lord.

Abraham got up early in the morning and went to the place where he had stood before the Lord.

Then Abraham got up from mourning his dead wife and said to the sons of Heth,

“I am a temporary settler among you. Grant me ownership of a burial site among you so that I may bury my dead.”

But Jacob himself went on ahead of them, and he bowed toward the ground seven times as he approached his brother.

You may live among us, and the land will be open to you. Live in it, travel freely in it, and acquire property in it.”

So the chief cupbearer told his dream to Joseph: “In my dream, there was a vine in front of me.

They sat before him, arranged by order of birth, beginning with the firstborn and ending with the youngest. The men looked at each other in astonishment.

So Judah and his brothers came back to Joseph’s house. He was still there, and they threw themselves to the ground before him.

God sent me ahead of you to preserve you on the earth and to save your lives by a great deliverance.

Then Joseph brought in his father Jacob and presented him before Pharaoh. Jacob blessed Pharaoh.
