Jesus asked him, “What is your name?” And he said, “My name is Legion, for we are many.”

She answered, “Yes, Lord, but even the dogs under the table eat the children’s crumbs.”

Now they had forgotten to take bread, except for one loaf they had with them in the boat.

For what benefit is it for a person to gain the whole world, yet forfeit his life?

Then they asked him, “Why do the experts in the law say that Elijah must come first?”

But they were silent, for on the way they had argued with one another about who was the greatest.

Sadducees (who say there is no resurrection) also came to him and asked him,

If David himself calls him ‘Lord,’ how can he be his son?” And the large crowd was listening to him with delight.

Then they led Jesus to the high priest, and all the chief priests and elders and experts in the law came together.

But the chief priests stirred up the crowd to have him release Barabbas instead.

Then they crucified him and divided his clothes, throwing dice for them, to decide what each would take.

If a place will not welcome you or listen to you, as you go out from there, shake the dust off your feet as a testimony against them.”

Then Jesus called the crowd, along with his disciples, and said to them, “If anyone wants to become my follower, he must deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me.

They said to him, “We are able.” Then Jesus said to them, “You will drink the cup I drink, and you will be baptized with the baptism I experience,

While they were eating, he took bread, and after giving thanks he broke it, gave it to them, and said, “Take it. This is my body.”

When the Sabbath came, he began to teach in the synagogue. Many who heard him were astonished, saying, “Where did he get these ideas? And what is this wisdom that has been given to him? What are these miracles that are done through his hands?
