“Leave us alone, Jesus the Nazarene! Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are – the Holy One of God!”

Jesus said to them, “The wedding guests cannot fast while the bridegroom is with them, can they? As long as they have the bridegroom with them they do not fast.

But you say that if anyone tells his father or mother, ‘Whatever help you would have received from me is corban’ (that is, a gift for God),

who will not receive in this age a hundred times as much – homes, brothers, sisters, mothers, children, fields, all with persecutions – and in the age to come, eternal life.

“Look, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be handed over to the chief priests and experts in the law. They will condemn him to death and will turn him over to the Gentiles.

and said to them, “Go to the village ahead of you. As soon as you enter it, you will find a colt tied there that has never been ridden. Untie it and bring it here.

As it is written in Isaiah the prophet, “Look, I am sending my messenger ahead of you, who will prepare your way,

the voice of one shouting in the wilderness, ‘Prepare the way for the Lord, make his paths straight.’”

In the wilderness John the baptizer began preaching a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins.

Now in those days Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan River.

But the days are coming when the bridegroom will be taken from them, and at that time they will fast.

Then Jesus’ mother and his brothers came. Standing outside, they sent word to him, to summon him.

Then the Pharisees came and began to argue with Jesus, asking for a sign from heaven to test him.

They kept this statement to themselves, discussing what this rising from the dead meant.

When the whole crowd saw him, they were amazed and ran at once and greeted him.

Immediately the father of the boy cried out and said, “I believe; help my unbelief!”

I tell you the truth, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child will never enter it.”

In the morning as they passed by, they saw the fig tree withered from the roots.

Then Judas Iscariot, one of the twelve, went to the chief priests to betray Jesus into their hands.

Then the high priest tore his clothes and said, “Why do we still need witnesses?
