Now the day came when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord – and Satan also arrived among them.

But Satan answered the Lord, “Skin for skin! Indeed, a man will give up all that he has to save his life!

These are the ones on the path where the word is sown: Whenever they hear, immediately Satan comes and snatches the word that was sown in them.

turn this man over to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, so that his spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord.

So Satan went out from the presence of the Lord, and he afflicted Job with a malignant ulcer from the sole of his feet to the top of his head.

So that huge dragon – the ancient serpent, the one called the devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world – was thrown down to the earth, and his angels along with him.
