Simon answered, “I suppose the one who had the bigger debt canceled.” Jesus said to him, “You have judged rightly.”

Then he said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” Peter answered, “The Christ of God.”

Jesus said to another, “Follow me.” But he replied, “Lord, first let me go and bury my father.”

The expert in religious law said, “The one who showed mercy to him.” So Jesus said to him, “Go and do the same.”

Then he said to them, “Suppose one of you has a friend, and you go to him at midnight and say to him, ‘Friend, lend me three loaves of bread,

Then someone from the crowd said to him, “Teacher, tell my brother to divide the inheritance with me.”

But he said to them, “Go and tell that fox, ‘Look, I am casting out demons and performing healings today and tomorrow, and on the third day I will complete my work.

The man replied, ‘A hundred measures of olive oil.’ The manager said to him, ‘Take your bill, sit down quickly, and write fifty.’

and said, “If you are the Christ, tell us.” But he said to them, “If I tell you, you will not believe,

Then Jesus, calling out with a loud voice, said, “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit!” And after he said this he breathed his last.

Jesus said to him, “Because I told you that I saw you under the fig tree, do you believe? You will see greater things than these.”

The woman replied, “I have no husband.” Jesus said to her, “Right you are when you said, ‘I have no husband,’

She replied, “No one, Lord.” And Jesus said, “I do not condemn you either. Go, and from now on do not sin any more.”]]

And when she had said this, Martha went and called her sister Mary, saying privately, “The Teacher is here and is asking for you.”

When he had said these things, Jesus was greatly distressed in spirit, and testified, “I tell you the solemn truth, one of you will betray me.”

When Jesus had said this, one of the high priest’s officers who stood nearby struck him on the face and said, “Is that the way you answer the high priest?”

(Now Jesus said this to indicate clearly by what kind of death Peter was going to glorify God.) After he said this, Jesus told Peter, “Follow me.”

Peter said to her, “Tell me, were the two of you paid this amount for the land?” Sapphira said, “Yes, that much.”

“Are you the one who is to come, or should we look for another?”

Then he called the crowd to him and said, “Listen and understand.
