They came to the house of the synagogue ruler where he saw noisy confusion and people weeping and wailing loudly.

Now Jesus left that place and came to his hometown, and his disciples followed him.

When John’s disciples heard this, they came and took his body and placed it in a tomb.

Immediately he got into a boat with his disciples and went to the district of Dalmanutha.

Then they came to Bethsaida. They brought a blind man to Jesus and asked him to touch him.

Then they asked him, “Why do the experts in the law say that Elijah must come first?”

But I tell you that Elijah has certainly come, and they did to him whatever they wanted, just as it is written about him.”

When they came to the disciples, they saw a large crowd around them and experts in the law arguing with them.

Then they came to Capernaum. After Jesus was inside the house he asked them, “What were you discussing on the way?”

Both those who went ahead and those who followed kept shouting, “Hosanna! Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord!

Sadducees (who say there is no resurrection) also came to him and asked him,

Many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am he,’ and they will mislead many.

Then everyone will see the Son of Man arriving in the clouds with great power and glory.

Stay awake and pray that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.”

Now while Peter was below in the courtyard, one of the high priest’s slave girls came by.

And very early on the first day of the week, at sunrise, they went to the tomb.

He proclaimed, “One more powerful than I am is coming after me; I am not worthy to bend down and untie the strap of his sandals.

Now in those days Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan River.

Now after John was imprisoned, Jesus went into Galilee and proclaimed the gospel of God.

“Leave us alone, Jesus the Nazarene! Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are – the Holy One of God!”
