But they said to him, ‘Sir, he has ten minas already!’

They also said many other things against him, reviling him.

(They did not understand that he was telling them about his Father.)

But Peter began and explained it to them point by point, saying,

I say this as a concession, not as a command.

Jesus said to them, “How many loaves do you have?” They replied, “Seven – and a few small fish.”

They said to him, ‘Because no one hired us.’ He said to them, ‘You go and work in the vineyard too.’

They replied, “Caesar’s.” He said to them, “Then give to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.”

“What do you think about the Christ? Whose son is he?” They said, “The son of David.”

saying, “I have sinned by betraying innocent blood!” But they said, “What is that to us? You take care of it yourself!”

Others said, “He is Elijah.” Others said, “He is a prophet, like one of the prophets from the past.”

Then they asked him, “Why do the experts in the law say that Elijah must come first?”

Sadducees (who say there is no resurrection) also came to him and asked him,

One of the experts in religious law answered him, “Teacher, when you say these things you insult us too.”

Then when Jesus noticed how the guests chose the places of honor, he told them a parable. He said to them,

Then they said to him, “Who are you? Tell us so that we can give an answer to those who sent us. What do you say about yourself?”

His mother told the servants, “Whatever he tells you, do it.”

Philip went and told Andrew, and they both went and told Jesus.

So they kept on repeating, “What is the meaning of what he says, ‘In a little while’? We do not understand what he is talking about.”

His disciples said, “Look, now you are speaking plainly and not in obscure figures of speech!
