And he did not do many miracles there because of their unbelief.

because John had repeatedly told him, “It is not lawful for you to have her.”

So they began to discuss this among themselves, saying, “It is because we brought no bread.”

I brought him to your disciples, but they were not able to heal him.”

Jesus said to him, “Not seven times, I tell you, but seventy-seven times!

The boy answered, ‘I will not.’ But later he had a change of heart and went.

“Therefore stay alert, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come.

When the foolish ones took their lamps, they did not take extra olive oil with them.

But he replied, ‘I tell you the truth, I do not know you!’

Therefore stay alert, because you do not know the day or the hour.

For you will always have the poor with you, but you will not always have me!

But he denied it in front of them all: “I don’t know what you’re talking about!”

He denied it again with an oath, “I do not know the man!”

Then Pilate said to him, “Don’t you hear how many charges they are bringing against you?”

But he did not answer even one accusation, so that the governor was quite amazed.

Look at the birds in the sky: They do not sow, or reap, or gather into barns, yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Aren’t you more valuable than they are?

“Whoever loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me, and whoever loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.

And concerning them the prophecy of Isaiah is fulfilled that says: ‘You will listen carefully yet will never understand, you will look closely yet will never comprehend.

For I tell you the truth, many prophets and righteous people longed to see what you see but did not see it, and to hear what you hear but did not hear it.

Isn’t this the carpenter’s son? Isn’t his mother named Mary? And aren’t his brothers James, Joseph, Simon, and Judas?
