nor can they prove to you the things they are accusing me of doing.

nor are all the children Abraham’s true descendants; rather “through Isaac will your descendants be counted.”

“that it may go well with you and that you will live a long time on the earth.”

Think about what I am saying and the Lord will give you understanding of all this.

So, although I have quite a lot of confidence in Christ and could command you to do what is proper,

I have sent him (who is my very heart) back to you.

So I asked, ‘What should I do, Lord?’ The Lord said to me, ‘Get up and go to Damascus; there you will be told about everything that you have been designated to do.’

But get up and stand on your feet, for I have appeared to you for this reason, to designate you in advance as a servant and witness to the things you have seen and to the things in which I will appear to you.

I recall your sincere faith that was alive first in your grandmother Lois and in your mother Eunice, and I am sure is in you.

And if someone wants to sue you and to take your tunic, give him your coat also.

Then an expert in the law came to him and said, “Teacher, I will follow you wherever you go.”
