Then he called the crowd to him and said, “Listen and understand.

He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?”

Then Moses and Elijah also appeared before them, talking with him.

Then the disciples understood that he was speaking to them about John the Baptist.

So the disciples went and did as Jesus had instructed them.

Again he sent other slaves, more than the first, and they treated them the same way.

Jesus spoke to them again in parables, saying:

Jesus said to them, “Whose image is this, and whose inscription?”

He said to them, “How then does David by the Spirit call him ‘Lord,’ saying,

Jesus answered them, “Watch out that no one misleads you.

Pilate said to them, “Take a guard of soldiers. Go and make it as secure as you can.”

But he sternly ordered them not to make him known.

He answered them and said, “Who are my mother and my brothers?”

He taught them many things in parables, and in his teaching said to them:

So with many parables like these, he spoke the word to them, as they were able to hear.

And he said to them, “Why are you cowardly? Do you still not have faith?”

Then he directed them all to sit down in groups on the green grass.

After saying good-bye to them, he went to the mountain to pray.

Then Elijah appeared before them along with Moses, and they were talking with Jesus.

He answered them, “What did Moses command you?”
