Now they wanted to arrest him (but they feared the crowd), because they realized that he told this parable against them. So they left him and went away.

(Now the betrayer had given them a sign, saying, “The one I kiss is the man. Arrest him and lead him away under guard.”)

Then someone ran, filled a sponge with sour wine, put it on a stick, and gave it to him to drink, saying, “Leave him alone! Let’s see if Elijah will come to take him down!”

The Spirit immediately drove him into the wilderness.

When they found him, they said, “Everyone is looking for you.”

Some people came bringing to him a paralytic, carried by four of them.

But he sternly ordered them not to make him known.

and Judas Iscariot, who betrayed him.

When his family heard this they went out to restrain him, for they said, “He is out of his mind.”

When he saw Jesus from a distance, he ran and bowed down before him.

He begged Jesus repeatedly not to send them out of the region.

Then they asked Jesus to leave their region.

Jesus went with him, and a large crowd followed and pressed around him.

As they got out of the boat, people immediately recognized Jesus.

Now the Pharisees and some of the experts in the law who came from Jerusalem gathered around him.

then you no longer permit him to do anything for his father or mother.

Jesus sent him home, saying, “Do not even go into the village.”

But Jesus gently took his hand and raised him to his feet, and he stood up.

But they did not understand this statement and were afraid to ask him.

In the house once again, the disciples asked him about this.
