He answered, “Elijah does indeed come first and will restore all things.

Then the disciples understood that he was speaking to them about John the Baptist.

The boy answered, ‘I will not.’ But later he had a change of heart and went.

Jesus spoke to them again in parables, saying:

Jesus answered them, “Watch out that no one misleads you.

But he replied, ‘I tell you the truth, I do not know you!’

Immediately he went up to Jesus and said, “Greetings, Rabbi,” and kissed him.

And he said to them, “Why are you cowardly? Do you still not have faith?”

They also had a few small fish. After giving thanks for these, he told them to serve these as well.

He answered them, “What did Moses command you?”

He said to them, “What do you want me to do for you?”

They replied as Jesus had told them, and the bystanders let them go.

The angel came to her and said, “Greetings, favored one, the Lord is with you!”

And Mary said, “My soul exalts the Lord,

But his mother replied, “No! He must be named John.”

He told them, “Collect no more than you are required to.”

So he said to them, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.

He said to him, “What is written in the law? How do you understand it?”

Jesus said to him, “You have answered correctly; do this, and you will live.”

He then told them a parable: “The land of a certain rich man produced an abundant crop,
