Therefore if you regard me as a partner, accept him as you would me.

But while John was completing his mission, he said repeatedly, ‘What do you think I am? I am not he. But look, one is coming after me. I am not worthy to untie the sandals on his feet!’

And whoever welcomes a child like this in my name welcomes me.

and the one who lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?”

Jesus said, “This voice has not come for my benefit but for yours.

“Do not let your hearts be distressed. You believe in God; believe also in me.

“If the world hates you, be aware that it hated me first.

“I am not praying only on their behalf, but also on behalf of those who believe in me through their testimony,

Jesus replied, “I told you that I am he. If you are looking for me, let these men go.”

Then the commanding officer sent the young man away, directing him, “Tell no one that you have reported these things to me.”

But if anyone has caused sadness, he has not saddened me alone, but to some extent (not to exaggerate) he has saddened all of you as well.
