All the crowds were amazed and said, “Could this one be the Son of David?”

‘This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me,

As he entered Jerusalem the whole city was thrown into an uproar, saying, “Who is this?”

And the crowds were saying, “This is the prophet Jesus, from Nazareth in Galilee.”

He went to Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus. Then Pilate ordered that it be given to him.

“Why does this man speak this way? He is blaspheming! Who can forgive sins but God alone?”

For whoever does the will of God is my brother and sister and mother.”

Have you not read this scripture: ‘The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone.

You will be hated by everyone because of my name. But the one who endures to the end will be saved.

When the slave girl saw him, she began again to say to the bystanders, “This man is one of them.”

But she was greatly troubled by his words and began to wonder about the meaning of this greeting.

This report about Jesus circulated throughout Judea and all the surrounding country.

But those who were at the table with him began to say among themselves, “Who is this, who even forgives sins?”

But the Pharisees and the experts in the law were complaining, “This man welcomes sinners and eats with them.”

And we rightly so, for we are getting what we deserve for what we did, but this man has done nothing wrong.”

He came as a witness to testify about the light, so that everyone might believe through him.

(Now he said this about Judas son of Simon Iscariot, for Judas, one of the twelve, was going to betray him.)

Then some of the residents of Jerusalem began to say, “Isn’t this the man they are trying to kill?

When they heard these words, some of the crowd began to say, “This really is the Prophet!”

They replied, “If this man were not a criminal, we would not have handed him over to you.”
