You go up to the feast yourselves. I am not going up to this feast because my time has not yet fully arrived.”

Jesus told them this parable, but they did not understand what he was saying to them.

Then he fell to his knees and cried out with a loud voice, “Lord, do not hold this sin against them!” When he had said this, he died.

saying, “Give me this power too, so that everyone I place my hands on may receive the Holy Spirit.”

And we proclaim to you the good news about the promise to our ancestors,

The commanding officer answered, “I acquired this citizenship with a large sum of money.” “But I was even born a citizen,” Paul replied.

through whom we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in the hope of God’s glory.

I put this charge before you, Timothy my child, in keeping with the prophecies once spoken about you, in order that with such encouragement you may fight the good fight.

And the commandment we have from him is this: that the one who loves God should love his fellow Christian too.

If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not receive him into your house and do not give him any greeting,

Now after Jesus entered the temple courts, the chief priests and elders of the people came up to him as he was teaching and said, “By what authority are you doing these things, and who gave you this authority?”

And he said to him, “To you I will grant this whole realm – and the glory that goes along with it, for it has been relinquished to me, and I can give it to anyone I wish.

Jesus said to them, “No doubt you will quote to me the proverb, ‘Physician, heal yourself!’ and say, ‘What we have heard that you did in Capernaum, do here in your hometown too.’”

Then Jesus told this parable: “A man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard, and he came looking for fruit on it and found none.

Then shouldn’t this woman, a daughter of Abraham whom Satan bound for eighteen long years, be released from this imprisonment on the Sabbath day?”

and said to him, “Tell us: By what authority are you doing these things? Or who it is who gave you this authority?”

Then the experts in the law and the chief priests wanted to arrest him that very hour, because they realized he had told this parable against them. But they were afraid of the people.

But we had hoped that he was the one who was going to redeem Israel. Not only this, but it is now the third day since these things happened.

Jesus did this as the first of his miraculous signs, in Cana of Galilee. In this way he revealed his glory, and his disciples believed in him.

No one takes it away from me, but I lay it down of my own free will. I have the authority to lay it down, and I have the authority to take it back again. This commandment I received from my Father.”
