The Lord told Elijah the Tishbite:

The Lord said to Elijah the Tishbite,

He said, “You know that the kingdom was mine and all Israel considered me king. But then the kingdom was given to my brother, for the Lord decided it should be his.

“The time will come when the land suffers from a famine, a plague, blight and disease, or a locust invasion, or when their enemy lays siege to the cities of the land, or when some other type of plague or epidemic occurs.

The young woman was very beautiful; she became the king’s nurse and served him, but the king did not have sexual relations with her.

He collaborated with Joab son of Zeruiah and with Abiathar the priest, and they supported him.

But King Solomon will be empowered and David’s dynasty will endure permanently before the Lord.”
