The old prophet picked up the corpse of the prophet, put it on the donkey, and brought it back. The old prophet then entered the city to mourn him and to bury him.

She asked Elijah, “Why, prophet, have you come to me to confront me with my sin and kill my son?”

He said to her, “Hand me your son.” He took him from her arms, carried him to the upper room where he was staying, and laid him down on his bed.

Elijah then told all the people, “Approach me.” So all the people approached him. He repaired the altar of the Lord that had been torn down.

He went into a cave there and spent the night. All of a sudden the Lord spoke to him, “Why are you here, Elijah?”

Then his wife Jezebel came in and said to him, “Why do you have a bitter attitude and refuse to eat?”

She wrote out orders, signed Ahab’s name to them, and sealed them with his seal. She then sent the orders to the leaders and to the nobles who lived in Naboth’s city.

The men of the city, the leaders and the nobles who lived there, followed the written orders Jezebel had sent them.

The king said to him, “How many times must I make you solemnly promise in the name of the Lord to tell me only the truth?”

The king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, “Didn’t I tell you he does not prophesy prosperity for me, but disaster?”

Then the king of Israel said, “Take Micaiah and return him to Amon the city official and Joash the king’s son.

There were three rows of windows arranged in sets of three.

But God told Shemaiah the prophet,

He then said to him, “Come home with me and eat something.”

So Elijah went to make an appearance before Ahab. Now the famine was severe in Samaria.

Then they reported to Jezebel, “Naboth has been stoned to death.”

The Lord told Elijah the Tishbite:

The Lord said to Elijah the Tishbite,

The young advisers with whom Rehoboam had grown up said to him, “Say this to these people who have said to you, ‘Your father made us work hard, but now lighten our burden.’ Say this to them: ‘I am a lot harsher than my father!

If these people go up to offer sacrifices in the Lord’s temple in Jerusalem, their loyalty could shift to their former master, King Rehoboam of Judah. They might kill me and return to King Rehoboam of Judah.”
